Top 10 lip looks

A quick way to freshen up your look is changing your lip color! Agreed? I do! I present you the top 10 lip looks; the choice is yours!

Lip Stain - Gives sheer long-lasting natural color. Add a touch of gloss or layer under a lipstick for added depth.

Nude Lips - Look full and healthy. Perfect for dramatic eyes. Go for a shade fraction lighter or darker than your natural skin tone.

Satin Lipstick - Ideal for everyday. Its less severe, more forgivig than a matte finish and more subtle than a gloss.

Strong Red Matte - Spells the classic high maintenance glamor of 1950s screen sirens.

Deep Colors - Work well on darker skin tone for a dramatic night-time look. Balance with strong well-defined brows.

Tinted balm - Ideal for everyday. It gives natural touch of color while keeping lips moisturized and protected. Easy to reapply!

High-Shine Glossy Lips - Create instant glamor. Make the lips look fuller and draw attention to your mouth - great for a luscious evening look.

Creamy Lipstick - Shades of soft pink or peach gives a fresh and youthful feel to a natural day time look.

Pale Colors - Make lips look fuller. Add a touch of highlighter above the cupid's bow and draw just outside the natural lip line. A dab of gloss at the centre of the lower lip accentuates your pout.

Geisha Cupid Bow - Has a sharply defined V that needs to be drawn with precision. It works well with strong, bright colors in gloss or matte.

Girls, I didnt wanna scare you! Sorry for the nasty photo, but I had a hearty laugh! Not that you freaked out, but you were so innocent and sweet :) really sorry girls....promise you I wont repeat! Hope you like this pic better! For a second, I thought she was having nail polish brush on her lips :) wat say? I never came across a wand like that before!

Makeup Bloopers

"Never try a new thing when you are in rush". How true is that? Ever had a makeup disaster? Of course, most of us have remedies handy, but what about those innocent? Do they have to start over from the scratch...

How many of us really have a first aid kit for face? Wondering "First aid for face???What the hell?" Do you wanna save your face from goofs? Make sure you have these...

1. Tissues/Blotting tissues.

2. Round and wedge-shaped make up sponges.

3. Powder puff.

4. Translucent powder.

5. Eye make-up remover.

6. Eyebrow brush.

7. Q-tips or cotton buds.

Foundation: Looks unalluringly two-toned along the hairline or jawline? Blend with a clean and dry makeup sponge until the line disappears. Doesnt work? Try blending with translucent powder dusted on to a soft puff.

Blush: Clown cheeks calling for attention? Rub a clean and dry makeup sponge over your brush srokes to take the color out. Soften the color even further with a translucent powder and redo with a new subtler blush shade. Using a cheek stain? Apply immediately over your foundation, blending with a sponge. If they directly contact your skin, they might seep into pores and look splotchy.

Lipstick: Bleeding lips? Blot 'em gently with tissues until they come away clean. Still seeing a stain? Moisturize your lips, leave it for a couple of minutes and blot again. Finish it with a neutral shade.

Mascara: Ever sneezed doing this? Dont even try! If you happen to use waterproof mascara, dip a Q-tip in eye makeup remover and dab gently. If its not waterproof, just dampen the Q-tip with water :) Use the other end of Q-tip to apply your foundation/concealer.

Brows: Made a masculine line? Wanna remove the excess? All you need would be few strokes with a clean brow brush. Doesnt work? Try cotton bud.

Add your 2 cents and make it more alluring :)

Nail Tip

According to Andrea Fulerton, celeb nail guru: "Always use a base and top coat. When painting your nails, be sure to seal the colour in by painting the base, colour and top coat right to the tip and edges of the nails. Base coat acts as an anchor as well as protector, so never skip it."

This is what Revlon Multicare Base + Top Coat promises:

1. Multi-tasking formula fortifies nails from bottom to top for longer wear.

2. Smoothes nails and prevents yellowing.

3. Seals and protects with high-shine finish.

4. UV absorbers fight sunlight to keep your nail colour pure.

5. Patented plasticizers and an acrylic polymer form a shiny and flexible shield.

6. DBP (dibutyl phthalate), Toluene and Formaldehyde-Free.

Application tip: Apply one coat both under and over your nail enamel.

Catwalk-glossy finish

Hot nail shades for autumn are peach, bronze, grey and lilac (family of lavender/mauve). Here is L'Oreal Resist & Shine Titanium Polish # 410 Vintage Peach...

You need eight coats of polish for that catwalk-glossy finish, says celeb nail guru Jessica Vartoughian. "Apply two layers of base coat, two coats of colour, then a top coat. Add another layer of colour the day after. Then four days later, apply a final layer of colour and top coat."

Whoaa... why would I apply the same colour on my nails four days later? I dont know if somebody out there really does that? If yes, the tip must be definitely for you kind!

Squeaky-clean makeup kit!

Keeping your makeup kit in tip top shape is obviously very critical, but what is even more important is how sanitary your makeup kit can be. Brushes occupy a major portion in our kits and they should be squeaky clean! So how can you keep your kit clean?

1. Start from Hand Sanitizer Gel as it helps both sanitize and moisturize your hands.

2. Use spatulas! Instead of placing your brush directly in the makeup, scoop it out. Placing your brush or a finger in a pot of makeup can spread bacteria and “contaminate” the product.

3. Try using disposable wands if you are obsessive about cleanliness. There are disposable mascara and lip gloss wands that are best used once and don’t double dip! Dispose each wand after each use.

4. Before using a lipstick, lip liner, eye liner, brow pencil, creme stick etc spray or dip the product with Isopropyl alcohol. More than 70% is too harsh for most cosmetics. This will help sanitize the makeup. Sounds pretty difficult........eh...

5. Use a tissue to gently wipe off each powder product such as pressed powders, eye shadows, blushes etc.

6. Use brush cleanser because it sanitizes the brush without drying out the bristles. At the end of the day, deep clean brushes using luke warm water and brush cleanser.

7. Wipe down your cases using alcohol.

8. Another part of being sanitary is keeping up on your makeup’s expiration dates. On the box of each cosmetic mostly, you will see a picture of an open container with a number next to the letter “M”. This indicates how many months the product will last once it is opened. Try this out!

I read this somewhere over the net, I dont remember. I will make sure to post the courtesy soon! Thanks to the person who gave this tip!

C'ya...
